Welcome

Carnival Village Trust is a unique collaboration between its partners whose objects are to develop the art and business of Carnival.
With preparation and performance central to the artform, we also host venues occupied by our partners in the locality of Europe´s largest carnival, Notting Hill, West London.

This site shows our core activities, information about our venues and will become a developing online resource of our development work and celebration of Carnival Arts.

News

Winter 2011/2012
The refurbished Yaa Centre is open for a few activities until its full opening in Spring 2012.

Summer 2011
Arts Council England has endorsed our proposals for the development and promotion of Carnival Arts. With an increased grant, we will work with our founding partners and the Londonwide carnival community towards exciting work and artist development.

Carnival Arts development

Our vision is to create a greater awareness of Carnival Arts. We have the background to do so and are well placed in the heart of London´s largest carnival, a major part in the calendar and locality of a largely diverse population.

As London´s development agency for Carnival Arts, we will draw attention to the arts, crafts and business of a relitively unsung artform in the UK, extending to its culture and roots. Carnival is highly specialised as well an open space for participation. It is
the year-long occupation of many for carnivals across the world.

Strategic partners

Our partners in African-Caribbean Arts share great backgrounds and expertise in music, masquerade and the business of Carnival. Globally renowned, they are independent, pioneering trophy-winning groups, maintaining perennial activities.
