Part of the Creative Learning & Collaboration initiative - a brand new Carnival Curriculum to help educate people on the culture and history of Notting Hill Carnival

Carnival Chronicles is a brand new mobile archive that brings both the history and artistry of Notting Hill Carnival to new audiences. Designed to travel, it is available for bookings at museums, universities, and exhibitions spaces all year around.

From the streets of Ladbroke Grove to museums and public spaces nationwide, Carnival Chronicles brings together rare photographs, oral histories, music, and costumes to tell the story of Notting Hill Carnival, from its Windrush-era beginnings to the present day.

Carnival Chronicles is Curated by Dr Cydney Phillip, Associate Lecturer in Black British Literature and Culture at Goldsmiths, University of London, as part of Carnival Village Trust’s brand new Creative Learning & Collaboration initiative. This programme reimagines carnival arts education through experiential and practice based learning. Working with museums, schools, universities, community groups and other cultural organisations, this ambitious educational strategy will aim to support lifelong learning, professional development and creative enterprise.
